Glitter in the Air

On that day I saw in the air

The glitter of which the scholars dream

When sunshine lit the flowers fair

The birds and waterfalls all stood and beamed

The distant ocean , a shiver of blue

And the faraway conifers, a story untold

Windmills on the farms didn’t have a clue

When they saw a dull night painted bold

The chestnut brown houses there

Which stood amongst the tulip stems

Knew the shivering ocean wouldn’t care

As it thundered the shore with  diamonds and gems
